Wayband wristband with elastic green strap and matte black case

The WAYBAND™ is a wearable haptic navigation device that uses vibrations to guide the user to their destination.

The WAYBAND is designed to empower the blind and visually impaired, instilling a greater sense of autonomy to explore new environments.

It can also deliver a safer, more intuitive navigation experience in other adventures, for users of all sights.

WAYBAND will be available for purchase through the Kickstarter launching in September!

How It Works

User pairs their new wayband wristband with the mobile app

1. Download the WAYBAND app and pair it with the device.

User enters desired destination into the app through voice activation

2. Tell the app where to go.

User puts the phone in their pocket

3. Put your phone away. Hands-free navigation!

User walks within the virtual corridor. Intensity of vibration feedback increases the further they deviate from the corridor

4. Walk confidently, as the WAYBAND provides vibration based feedback whenever you step off the correct path.

The Virtual Corridor

The technology creates a virtual corridor just slightly wider than humans by plotting the route using GPS coordinates and Machine Learning.

If you feel no vibrations that means you’re going in the right direction. As soon as you step out of the corridor, you feel a vibration, indicating that you should step back into the corridor.
